What is it like to live in Monkston Park?
Monkston Park is the quiet sibling to nearby Broughton. The same excellent schools, the same family-friendly vibe, but it feels less busy and more peaceful. Tree-lined streets, large green spaces and very few through-roads mean traffic is minimal. Gardens are larger here than in newer estates. It is an obvious choice for families who want safety and greenery but do not need to be at the centre of activity.
Monkston Park is calm, green and residential. The streets are quiet with very little through-traffic. The community is family-oriented and settled. It does not have the buzz of Broughton or the urban energy of CMK — it is a peaceful retreat. Residents value the tranquillity and the space.
History of Monkston Park
Monkston and Monkston Park were developed in the 1990s and 2000s as part of the eastern expansion of Milton Keynes. The area takes its name from the historic Monkston area, which was farmland before development. The estate was planned with generous green spaces and a low-density layout, giving it the peaceful character that distinguishes it from busier neighbouring estates.
