Shenley feels like a village within MK - mature trees, established housing, excellent schools. The properties are a mix of 1980s family homes and newer builds, so you get solid value compared to newer estates like Broughton or Oakgrove, but without sacrificing quality. Crime is low, parking is easy, and there is a genuine sense of community. Shenley Brook End (the eastern side) has the most established character and best schools. A natural choice for families who want established character without being a premium area.

History of Shenley

Shenley comprises several historic villages - Shenley Brook End, Shenley Church End and Shenley Lodge - that predate Milton Keynes. Shenley Brook End appears in the Domesday Book. These villages were absorbed into the New Town development from the 1970s onward, with modern residential estates built around the original village cores. The area has matured into one of MK's most desirable established districts, known for its leafy character and excellent schools.

The A421 is accessible within a few minutes, connecting to the M1 at Junction 14 (about 8 minutes) and east toward Bedford. The A5 runs nearby for north-south travel. Grid roads connect to CMK in about 12 minutes.

Rail connections

There is no train station in Shenley. Milton Keynes Central is approximately 12 minutes by car, offering fast services to London Euston in 32-35 minutes. Bletchley station (10 minutes by car) also serves London Euston.

Getting around

No local train station - drive to MK Central (12 min) for London trains. Good grid road connections to CMK and south MK. Bus services available.
