What is it like to live in Wavendon?
Wavendon is genuinely beautiful - old village green, mature trees, zero crime, and a world-class music venue (The Stables). If you know about it, you probably already want to live here. New development (Wavendon Gate) has brought modern family homes alongside period properties, so there is choice. The premium pricing reflects scarcity and desirability. You will need a car for most things, but if lifestyle beats convenience, Wavendon is special. Very popular with executives and professional families who can afford it.
Wavendon has a prestigious, rural, village feel. The historic village has old cottages, a village green and mature trees. The newer Wavendon Gate development is modern but well-designed. The community is affluent and engaged, drawn by The Stables, the countryside and the low crime. It feels far from the city while being only minutes from MK's amenities.
History of Wavendon
Wavendon is a historic village dating back to at least the 12th century, listed in the Domesday Book. It remained a small rural village until the 20th century. In 1970, jazz musicians John Dankworth and Cleo Laine founded The Stables music venue here, putting Wavendon on the cultural map. The Wavendon Gate development, built from the 2000s onward, brought modern family homes to the edge of the historic village while preserving its rural character.
