Schools & Education in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes has a wide range of primary and secondary schools, including maintained schools, academies and faith schools, plus nearby grammar schools in Buckinghamshire. We do not rank schools or label any as "best" or "top". School performance changes over time and the right school depends on your child.

• Ofsted (or the Independent Schools Inspectorate for independent schools) publishes current inspection reports. • The local council's school admissions pages set out how places are allocated and the current admissions arrangements. • Individual school websites list open days, admission criteria and contact details.

Catchment areas and admission criteria can change each year, and being near a school does not guarantee a place. Check the council's current admissions documents and contact schools directly before relying on any address for school planning. This guide does not predict admission eligibility — always confirm with the relevant admissions authority.

When researching where to live, use the area guides to understand the character of different parts of MK, then verify school options for any specific address with the sources above.
