What is it like to live in Brooklands?
Brooklands is younger and less established than Oakgrove or Broughton but developing fast. Modern housing, reasonable prices, growing community parks and cafés. It is not as "done" as older estates, but that is partly the appeal — you are not paying a premium for maturity. Schools are good and modern. For families who want contemporary living without the Broughton premium or the Oakgrove price tag, Brooklands offers solid value. The infrastructure is still developing, so the vibe changes year to year.
Brooklands has a modern, developing, community-in-the-making feel. The streets are new, the houses are contemporary, and the population is young and family-oriented. It does not have the settled character of older estates yet — things are still arriving, still being built. For buyers who like being part of something growing, it is exciting. For those who want everything already in place, it may feel premature.
History of Brooklands
Brooklands is one of Milton Keynes' newest eastern expansion areas, developed from the 2010s onward on former farmland east of Broughton. The development is still growing, with new phases being built. It was planned as a modern, medium-density family community with greenways, a primary school and a local centre. The Brooklands Square development is bringing retail and community facilities to the area.
